Our history
On April 27th, 2018, Nogales Police Officer Jesus "Chuy" Cordova was shot and killed while attempting to apprehend a carjacking suspect. This tragedy devastated our community of Nogales and our law enforcement community. The last time the City of Nogales mourned the killing of a Nogales Police Officer was in 1888. In May 2018, we organized the 1st Annual Jesus M. Cordova Memorial Softball Tournament and had an amazing and successful outcome. Therefore, we established the Jesus M. Cordova Memorial Foundation (JCMF), a nonprofit 501 (c)(3).
